How the PDF and file tools work

Every tool follows the same three steps, so once you have used one you can use them all.

1. 1Add your file. Drag it onto the page or choose it from your device. Some tools accept several files.
2. 2Adjust options if the tool has any, such as compression level, page range or password.
3. 3Download the result. It is ready in seconds, and your original file is not kept.

Find the right tool

• Use the search box on the home page and describe the task, for example “shrink a PDF” or “sign a document”.

Tips for better results

• Compressing? Try the default first. Stronger compression makes smaller files but can soften images.
• Scanned PDF you cannot search? Run it through OCR to make the text selectable.
• Sending a PDF outside your company? Use the privacy scanner to check for hidden metadata and redact sensitive text.
• Password-protected file? Use the unlock tool first if you know the password.
